MindX, a Hanoi-based EdTech startup focusing on training technology skills, has raised $ 3 million as part of a Series A fund led by Wavemaker Partners, with the participation of Vietnamese investment bank Thien Viet Securities and an anonymous United States-based investor.
MindX also received loan funding from Beacon Fund, an investment firm focused on women-founded companies.
With the new funding, the company plans to expand MindX’s online platform, create more educational content and expand into Vietnamese Tier 2 and 3 cities and rural provinces. He plans to build a network of tech companies that will provide jobs to students who complete the course.
Founded in 2015 by Tung Nguyen, Ha Nguyen and Huy Nguyen, the MindX curriculum also focuses on children from kindergarten to grade 12 and university students. Topics are application programming: websites, mobiles, games, data science topics, UI / UX design and artificial intelligence, etc., designed for each age group. Students can choose from short-term courses for introduction or choose long-term ways to guarantee employment after graduation. In particular, students have the option of learning first – then paying – without paying tuition fees until they get a job with the desired income.
MindX aims to help students, especially in elementary and secondary schools, learn and experience skills by combining theory and practice in a startup environment.

Many MindX graduates are currently working with leading technology companies in the field like Google, Shopee and Amazon with a salary of 6,000 – 15,000 USD / month. After studying at MindX, middle and high school students have a list of domestic and international technology awards, as well as scholarships to study abroad in high schools in the US, UK and Singapore.

MindX currently has 13 centers and has trained more than 25,000 students through two types: on-campus offline and online programs.
The startup is partnering with 200 tech companies from Vietnam, Singapore, Japan and other countries to help their students find jobs after completing the training.
In October 2019, MindX raised $ 500,000 with the participation of other individual investors in a fundraiser led by the ESP Capital Investment Fund.
