upGrad Merges 3 Indian Subsidiaries to Become a Global Integrated LifeLongLearning Company

upGrad, Asia’s top EdTech leader, has announced the merger of upGrad Campus (originally Impartus), upGrad Jeet (originally The GATE Academy), and upGrad KnowledgeHut (originally KnowledgeHut) to become a global integrated lifelong learning company.

The merger will create a core company in India that will drive GRAD’s vision for an integrated strategy to expand and promote international education by 2022. The merged organization will cover the entire portion of the high EdTech offer, serving college learners and working professionals. As an integrated lifelong learning company, the merged organization will support college students with undergraduate degrees, overseas programs, campus programs, government test preparation courses, and job-linked programs. So, upGrad will support professionals working with short-form courses, masters programs, doctoral programs, and executive programs.

Ronnie Screwvala, chairperson and co-founder, upGrad, said:

“The merger of all Indian constituents aims to strengthen the corporate structure and truly strengthen our position as an integrated Adtech player and provide a strong foundation for our global strategy. We want the UpGrad brand to enter the full range of our offerings, and so a merged entity makes sense. Our offices in APAC, EMEA and US will continue to operate as independent subsidiaries. “

As the three subsidiaries merge to become part of the value chain – an integrated LifeLongLearning company, the merger will be visible both to the integrated customer as well as at the tech platform level, a statement said.

The merger will ensure that upGrad, which is currently 2X more than any other player on the market, will achieve its goal of becoming the closest competitor 4X by the end of 2022, the statement said.

upGrad, launched in 2015, is a pioneer in the online education revolution, focusing on the career success of over 1.3 billion global workers. Strengthening its value chain as an integrated LifeLongLearning company, upGrad aims to reach 7.5 million registered users by 2024 by partnering with more than 1298 universities, 3110 corporates and expanding its network of faculty, mentors and experts to 11,078. Currently, upGrad has more than 300 university partnerships with over 2 million + registered users in 50 countries and a strong enterprise business with a customer base of 1000 companies worldwide.

The company recently unveiled its plans to add 100+ online programs in the next 24 months.
