Leverage Edu, a startup that helps Indian students gain access to top global universities, has raised an undisclosed amount of increased capital from Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma.

The new funds raised will be used to expand teams in India and abroad. The startup plans to double its staff to more than 600 people across two continents.
Founded in 2017 by Akshay Chaturvedi, Leverage Edu provides students enrolled on its platform with an uninterrupted college application journey, including one-on-one workshops led by individual mentors, portfolio build-up sessions, pre-program internships and access to online courses. , And special scholarship options. The company helps students with services such as visas, accommodation and educational loans. Leverage Edu also runs Univalley.com, which provides consulting, technology and recruitment solutions to partner universities around the world.

The company is also backed by a consortium of investors such as Bloom Ventures, Tumor Capital, DSG Consumer Partners, Trifecta Capital. It is also backed by individual investors including GOQii’s Vishal Gondal, Saamana Capital’s Lash Lilani, Pine Labs’ Amrish Rau and Parthenon’s Karan Khemka.
Earlier this year, Leverage Edu raised $ 6.5 million (INR 47 crore) in a series of funding rounds led by Tumor Capital with the participation of existing investors Bloom Ventures and DSG Customer Partners. The company had raised another 2 2 million in loan financing from venture debt firm Trifecta Capital in June this year.
