ReSkills EdTech, a Malaysian live learning platform, has raised $ 1.5 million in an angel fund round from a group of private angel investors led by JSF Platinum.
The company plans to use the new capital to boost growth and stabilize its expansion, especially in the Southeast Asian region.
Founded in 2020 by Jin Tan, ReSkills is one of the fastest growing online live learning platforms that allows Celcom members to enjoy free access to instructor-led live learning courses every day for fifteen months. Startups run in collaboration with governments, corporations, universities, colleges, schools, as well as organizations and training providers.
ReSkills aims to empower millions of Malaysians through recycling and upskilling, helping their professional and personal growth. It believes in effective and transformative learning, where knowledge is exchanged with experts in real-time.
Speaking about the company and the new funding, ReSkills CEO Jean Tan said,
“We strongly believe that education is a fundamental human right and that it should be accessible and affordable for all. These funds are evidence from the investment community that ReSkills can achieve this goal. . “
ReSkills, in partnership with Celcom, encourages people to develop their knowledge and skills to thrive together in these challenging times. It connects aspiring students with master instructors to gain in-depth mastery of a particular subject as they analyze case studies and apply lessons learned in teacher-led sessions.
Within a year of operations, ReSkills has empowered 100,000 registered learners through recycling and upskilling – learning business and personal growth, career growth and business entrepreneurship despite the global epidemic crisis. Startups from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and India have grown from a handful of coaches to 169. It claims to have delivered 300 online classes and transacted over a thousand teaching hours in five languages.
ReSkills is focusing on increasing the global operations of its ReSkills Hubs. It was established in Indonesia in August 2021, followed by the Philippines (September), Thailand and Vietnam (November), and India in December.
