Malaysian startup Riskel Adtech raised 1.5M to expand its reach in SEA

ReSkills EdTech, a Malaysian live learning platform, has raised $ 1.5 million in an angel fund round from a group of private angel investors led by JSF Platinum.

The company plans to use the new capital to boost growth and stabilize its expansion, especially in the Southeast Asian region.

Founded in 2020 by Jin Tan, ReSkills is one of the fastest growing online live learning platforms that allows Celcom members to enjoy free access to instructor-led live learning courses every day for fifteen months. Speaking about the company and the new funding, ReSkills CEO Jean Tan said,

“We strongly believe that education is a fundamental human right and that it should be accessible and affordable for all. These funds are evidence from the investment community that ReSkills can achieve this goal. . “

Tan said the Angel Round was closed in October and, in addition, plans to expand and further develop the company’s platform. He said the company will focus on marketing efforts in terms of user acquisition and hiring of trainers.

ReSkills, in partnership with Celcom, encourages people to develop their knowledge and skills to thrive together in these challenging times. It connects aspiring students with master instructors to gain in-depth mastery of a particular subject as they analyze case studies and apply lessons learned in teacher-led sessions.

Within a year of operations, ReSkills has empowered 100,000 registered learners through recycling and upskilling – learning business and personal growth, career growth and business entrepreneurship despite the global epidemic crisis.
