Indonesian education-focused FinTech startup Pintech raises 7M in Series A funding

Pintech, a Jakarta-based fintech firm focused on the education sector, has raised 7 million as part of a Series A funding round led by Kaizenvest and Heritas Capital.

Existing investors such as Finch Capital, Global Founder Capital, Action Venture Lab, Strive and Fox Ventures and Blue 7 and Earlsfield Capital also participated in the round.

Pintek plans to use the new funding to accelerate product development, improve its technology platform and hire more staff as part of its efforts to strengthen business reach across Indonesia.

Founded in 2018 by Ioann Fainsilber and Tommy Yuwono, Pintek is committed to providing financial access to all communities and educational institutions and their suppliers to meet the education needs in Indonesia. The platform covers all educational expenses from kindergarten and high school to university, postgraduate and vocational training programs.

Pintech is committed to empowering students and their families at all levels by providing affordable loans. Its innovative tech platforms and in-depth partnerships with organizations ensure loan affordability. In addition to lending to students and their parents, the platform also provides financial business solutions to educational institutions and their suppliers.

The company is also registered with the Ministry of Transport and Information Science and is a member of AFPI (The Indonesian Joint Funding Fintech Association). Pintech has disbursed loans to more than 2,750 educational institutions and has reached out to more than 650,000 students.

Earlier this year, Pintech raised कर्ज 21 million in loans from US-based private loan investor Accial Capital. Earlier, the company had raised $ 5 million in December 2020 through the participation of existing investor Action Venture Lab in a funding round led by Finch Capital. The startup’s latest funding has raised more than सुरुवाती 35 million in total equity and debt funding since its inception.
