Delhi-based 88Kacademics raises $ 3 million in pre-Series A funding led by Arin Capital

Delhi-based Adtech 88academics has raised $ 3 million (INR 22 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Arin Capital.

The company plans to use the funds to develop India-specific materials for the K-12 (Kindergarten to 12th grade) segment.

88academics has been established with the social objective of providing quality video based learning materials to all Indian students.

3i Founded by Anil Ahuja, former head of Asia, 88academics, which is part of the Singapore-based 88tuition, has partnered with names like DBS Bank, Singapore Indian Development Association and People’s Association. It is also expected to partner with Manila, the capital of the Philippines.

Commenting on funds, Founder and CEO of 88academics, Anil Ahuja Said,

“Bringing in Arin is a big support because he was one of Baiju’s first investors.” The fact that names like Ranjan Pai and Mohandas Pai are coming to this small startup is a testament to the quality of the technology. “

Ahuja further said, “We are going to launch in the 2022 academic year and we are adding a quarter to about 5,000 students which is 1.5 per cent of the student population in Singapore.”

This is our plan to bring this teaching to India. The product can be priced like Netflix and “you don’t have to be stuck in a program or package for five years,” he said.
