Harris, an Ottawa-based global software provider, has acquired OneFile, a UK-based leading training and learning software provider.
Founded in 2005 by Susanna Lawson, OneFile is a Manchester-based market-leading learning and development software provider that supports the delivery of trainee and qualification training through its ePortfolio and Learning Management (LMS) platform. For nearly 20 years, OneFile has pioneered EdTech, becoming the UK’s leading end-to-end education software provider, helping more than 1.2 million people from more than 750 organizations – from construction and logistics to the public sector and leisure – learn for their future.
OneFile’s goal is to give people the tools to shape their own future, reach their potential, and be the best they can be. The company believes that when people have the tools to learn in a way that suits them and their knowledge is applied in the workplace, learning is more attractive.
Commenting on the edit, Harris senior executive vice president Steve Hammond said,
“We are excited to continue the success that OneFile has already achieved. Susanna has entrusted her staff and products to Harris and she has found a permanent home for her vision that will be well cared for. OneFile fits perfectly with current brands and opportunities. We are excited for their future here. “
Following the agreement, OneFile will retain its brand and technology platform, and CEO and founder Susanna Lawson will take on the role of ambassador as OneFile founder, while OneFile’s CRO Sue Thexton will become the company’s executive vice president and managing director.
Suzanne Lawson, founder and CEO of OneFile, said:
“UK apprenticeship and training qualifications are widely spread across businesses and sectors. We envision many growth paths for OneFile and we look forward to learning from and supporting Harris to expand our reach and offerings.”
Onefile’s chief revenue officer, Sue Thexton, added:
“I am delighted and humbled to be named OneFile’s new MD. Susanna has spent the last 16 years building the company where we are today and I welcome the opportunity to entrust us to the next stage of our development.”
